Self catering accommodation, leisure travel, holiday accommodation
Born and bred in Johannesburg, Anne and Lee Price decided to opt out
of big city life and get their kids into the countryside that they so loved.
In 1981, after a 6 month epic South African property search,
they found the perfect piece of land in the form of a barren,
yet astoundingly beautifully located property off the beach in Chintsa.
Here they relocated with their children, Sal and Sean and started to build their dream.
Over the next 11 years, Buccaneers became known as the perfect location
for city families to spend their holidays.
lee and anne built cute self catering cottages that perfectly suited a beach family holiday, and the buccaneers legacy had begun.
With the dawning of the new South Africa in 1994
came dramatic changes to the tourism industry in the country.
Youthful travellers from all over the world started coming to the southern tip of Africa to experience the new sense of freedom.
With this new era, the Prices decided to change focus and they put their hearts and souls into making Buccaneers lodge and backpackers one of the leading and most loved backpacker destinations in South Africa.
Over the years, Buccaneers has reinvented itself again and again
to accommodate the ever changing demands of the current trends and traveler market.

more luxurious sea view en suites, and the beautiful 6 bedroomed tree cottage.
with a stunning big lounge & kitchen area that really suits groups, larger families & friends
all wanting a private room but access to a smarter collective space.

these rooms also suit a slighter older, but not necessarily un-youthful traveler
with own bathrooms, private entrances and bigger beds!
